Who would be the Audience for your media product

Target Audience

When deciding the whole outline for our opening sequence we needed to discuss what audience we would be targeting. We decided that it would be the sort of film that would attract the teenagers, and a young teenage style film. We wanted to attract these teen audiences to give them a message, and let them know what the issues are that are happening in today's society.

I think that the audience would be young teenagers as the characters are young teenagers, and they would be able to relate to some of the issues that are occurring. This teenage film would not be appropriate for the older citizens, and i think they would not want to watch this film, as they are more traditional, and grew up in a more traditional society, who would not appreciate values of young teenage pregnancies and the use of drugs within young people. We wanted our target audience who are young teenagers to be able to see what they look like through the eyes of the television, and see what damage could be done to their health, and what they are getting themselves into.

We wanted to ensure that our film was gripping enough, and wanting to make the audience to carry on watching. We knew it would be difficult for us to achieve this, as we had such little time, but we tried the best we could to attract the target audience we wanted.

This is a young 15 year old girl, called Hannah, who lives in new Mexico. She enjoys hanging out on the streets, and binge drinking, yet she does not know that she is carrying a child, who the father is a drug dealer, nevertheless her mother is strict and cares about her well being, they are so different as Hannah is rebelling against her mother and her views. Hannah used to work in a small corner shop, until she got sacked for stealing. she hopes her life is on the mend, even though she does not know about the big secret she is carrying. I think that one member of our target audience would be a pregnant teenager. I think this because our opening sequence it includes a pregnant teenager, and the use of drugs, which she may have used. She could have been involved in drug addictions by the help of her boyfriend, who is no longer the father, and she is now a single mother who does not know what to do with her life.
