What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

Institutions

The role of the distribution company means that they would need to get the film to the target audience. To do this companies need to produce a certain film, and take it to the exhibitors who would then get the film, and even could make it a world wide success.

We needed to put into consideration that our opening sequence would be a low budget British film, that would be in a company with a local British distributor company. A film like ours would need a huge amount of backing and money in order for it to become a worldwide hit. The UK film council would then hopefully go to important film festivals and social events which would help the marketing campaign for our film.
The production company would market the film by the use of trailers, and the new media. This means that they would advertise this by the use of Internet, newspapers, magazines and other devices. people would then want to see the film by the success of the trailer and then take the film to the cinema, which would hopefully reach the target audience.
The production company would then get funding for certain sponsors and distribution companies who are willing to distribute their film.
I would like paramount to distribute our film as they have much success in distributing teenage films, and they are a world wide film distributing company, this would hopefully help our film to become a worldwide success.

Another way in which we could distribute our film, would be over YouTube, the advantages of this is that YouTube is free, and able for anyone to comment on it, and give you feedback, and they could even rate the film, so you could tell what a wide range of audiences thought.

Not only is YouTube a worldwide accessible piece of new technology, and anyone from all over the world can have a look. The distribution process would be faster overall.
